2n= 28. - Siberia (N). - Malyschev (1994a).

Geography: Asian (NE): (SIB).

Notes: Two closely related aggregates are proposed, one centered on Saxifraga rivularis (species 25-27) and one on S. sibirica (species 28-30). The latter includes two seed-reproducing species, S. sibirica (non-arctic) and S. radiata (which reaches the Arctic), and in addition the bulbil-reproducing S. cernua and S. svalbardensis. Molecular evidence suggests that the bulbil-reproducing species are results of hybridizations between the two aggregates but we enter them under the S. sibirica aggregate as they morphologically are more similar to S. radiata and S. sibirica than to the species of the S. rivularis aggregate.
