There are numerous reports of 2n = 48 from more southern regions but we assume they belong to other subspecies.

Geography: European - Asian (W): NOR* RUS* SIB** GRL**.

Notes: Silene vulgaris occurs as an established adventive in the Arctic in Europe, elsewhere casual. There are several other, more southern subspecies, partly at higher ploidy levels.
