Notes: In Norway, subsp. lapponica reaches the northern parts but not the Arctic. Several other taxa of the Dactylorhiza majalis complex are present in more southern parts of Scandinavia. Dactylorhiza majalis s. str. only reaches north to Denmark and southernmost Sweden. More investigation of the arctic and near-arctic Russian material is needed.
