NotesCirsium arvense subsp. arvense is probably not reproducing in the Arctic but flowers richly and remains for very long by vegetative means, partly as extensive stands. The same is probably the case with subsp. setosum below.
Chromosomes(1) 34 34-36 (2x). - Europe, Russia, Siberia, Canada. - Numerous reports, mostly for C. arvense, a few Asian ones for C. setosum.
