Andromeda glaucophylla Link
Publ. & Syn.Andromeda polifolia var. latifolia Aiton, Hort. Kew. 2: 68 (1789). Described from "North America".
NotesFabijan (2009) considered this species a variety of Andromeda polifolia but did not argue for her treatment. Böcher et al. (1978) gave the following diagnostic feature for their subsp. glaucophylla vs. subsp. polifolia: leaf lower surface pubescent vs. glabrous and with a wax layer; pedicels curved, at most 2 times the length of flower/fruit vs. straight, 2-4 times the length of flower/fruit; and fruit bluish grey, top depressed, broader than long vs. reddish brown, as long as broad. The scant material we have studied supports specific rank.
