Andromeda L.
Publ. & Syn.L., Sp. Pl.: 393 (1753).
NotesYurtsev (PAF proposal, comments) accepted three northern taxa of Andromeda: a very widespread A. polifolia with a boreal subsp. polifolia and a northern boreal to southern arctic subsp. pumila, and a regional A. glaucophylla in northeastern North America and Greenland. Andromeda glaucophylla is characteristic morphologically although rank as a race of A. polifolia is an alternative (Hultén 1948; Fabijan 2009). The two proposed races of A. polifolia may be more problematic to accept.
