NotesYurtsev: Subspecies boreo-asiatica is a northern race with a huge range from the Urals and Cis-Ural hillocky plain east to South Chukotka. It differs from the Caucasian subsp. gelida in several characters including shape and dissection of leaves (approaching the leaf shape of Aquilegia), shape of stipules, sepals, and epicalyx segments, etc.
