NotesMinuartia verna is polymorphic with several described subspecies. The material from the Arctic has been assigned to subsp. verna but the reasons for this are not known to us.
Chromosomes(1) 24 26 (2x, x = 12). - Europe. - Numerous reports.
(2) 48 (4x, x = 12). - Europe, Africa (NW). - Several reports.
There are some old European reports of higher numbers in this species: 2n = 78 (6x, x = 13?) and ca. 120 (10x, x = 12).
