Cerastium aleuticum Hultén
Publ. & Syn.Hultén, Svensk Bot. Tidskr. 30: 520 (1936). Holotype (S!): Alaska: the Aleutian Islands, Atka, 13. July 1932, leg. E. Hultén 6554.
NotesMurray and Elven: According to Hultén (1968a), Cerastium aleuticum is restricted to the Aleutian Popof Islands, Kodiak Island, and the Pribilof Islands, i.e., not arctic. Morton (2005a: 77) also included the arctic St. Lawrence Island but we would like a confirmation of that record (there is no confirming specimen in ALA).
Chromosomes72 (4x). - Siberia (N), Far East (N), Alaska, Canada. - Numerous reports, one from Wrangel Island for subsp. bialynickii ("Arctic Dwarf", Zhukova 1969).
Some reports from East Chukotka and Alaska are probably referable to var. grandiflorum.
