NotesTolmachev (1966b) recorded Rumex gmelinii from the lower reaches of the Kolyma River. Kashina and Tupitsina (1992) mapped an occurrence in the Arctic west of the Kolyma River estuary.

The Zhukova chromosome count, if correct, may mean that the base chromosome number number in subg. Rumex is x = 5 rather than x = 10.
