NotesNorthern Thalictrum simplex is divided on two parapatric races - subsp. boreale and subsp. simplex - with a reported pattern of intermediates. According to Rebristaya (in comment), the plant that reaches the Arctic in the Bolshezemelskaya Tundra belongs to subsp. boreale, not to subsp. simplex as mapped by Jalas and Suominen (1989: maps 1945-1946).
