Potamogeton epihydrus Raf.
Publ. & Syn.Raf., Med. Repos., ser. 2, 5: 354 (1808). Type: U.S.A.: "in flumine Ohio", leg. Michaux. See Rafinesque, Med. Repos. ser. 3, 2: 409 (1811).
NotesHaynes and Hellquist (2000c) mapped Potamogeton epihydrus very close to the Arctic on the southeastern Hudson Bay east of James Bay. If this is the Knob Lake occurrence (5448'N) cited by Scoggan (1978b), then it is probably not in the Arctic. The amphi-Atlantic pattern is due to a single occurrence in northwestern Scotland (see Hultén 1958: 210, map 191; Preston 1995).
