NotesSolstad and Elven: Kristinsson (2008) reported only Ruppia maritima from Iceland. Both R. maritima and R. cirrhosa are present in the material (AMNH, ICEL) and both reach the Arctic.

Not included: Haynes (2000b) accepted only 2n = 16 for this species, strange in view of the numbers reported above.
