Chamaepericlymenum suecicum (L.) Graebn.
Publ. & Syn.Graebn. in Asch. & Graebn., Fl. Nordostdeut. Flachl. 4: 539 (1899). - Cornus suecica L., Sp. Pl.: 118 (1753). Described from Sweden, Norway, and Russia. Lectotype (LINN): Herb. Linn. 151.12 (Jonsell and Jarvis 2002: 83).
NotesElven and Murray: Chamaepericlymenum suecicum has an oceanic-suboceanic range in both Eurasia and North America, only partly overlapping with the much more continental range of C. canadense. The zones of contact are therefore limited.
Chromosomes22 (2x). - Europe (N, C), Far East (N), Alaska, Canada (E), U.S.A. (E), Greenland. - Numerous reports.
Bain and Denford (1979) reported six diploid chromosome counts for the hybrid C. canadense x suecicum from Alaska. A report by Gervais et al. (1999) from eastern Canada for C. canadense x suecicum should probably also be assigned to this hybrid.
