Parnassiaceae
Publ. & Syn.L., Sp. Pl.: 9 (1753). Lectotype (UPS): Europe. Herb. Burser IX:24, right hand specimen (Jonsell and Jarvis 2002: 82). The previously proposed LINN 25.2 is post-1753.
NotesParnassia has traditionally been assigned to Saxifragaceae. According to phylogenetic evidence, Parnassia is relatively distant from that family (see Stevens 2001 onwards and references therein) and Parnassiaceae is rather a sister to Celastraceae in Celastrales (Zhang and Simmons 2006).
