Oxyria digyna (L.) Hill
Publ. & Syn.Hill, Hort. Kew.: 158 (1768). - Rumex digynus L., Sp. Pl.: 337 (1753). Described from Europe: "Alpibus Lapponicus, Helveticis, Wallicis". Lectotype (LINN): Herb. Linn. 464.32 (Bhopal and Chaudhry 1977: 89).
Chromosomes14 (2x). - Europe, Russia, Siberia, Far East, Canada, U.S.A., Greenland. - Numerous reports.
Not included: There are several reports of 2n = 42 (6x) from southern Siberia and central Asia. These may belong to a different race or species (the otherwise Himalayan O. elatior R. Br. ex Meissn.?). The scant material we have inspected from these areas differ morphologically from the northern plants.
