Potamogetonaceae
Publ. & Syn.Zannichelliaceae.
NotesWe follow Stevens (2001 onwards) and include Zannichelliaceae in Potamogetonaceae.
Elven and Tzvelev: Several arguments have been brought forward for recognition of Potamogeton subg. Coleogeton as a genus apart from Potamogeton, first as Coleogeton (Les and Haynes 1996) but due to priority as Stuckenia (Holub 1997; Tzvelev 2000a; Haynes and Hellquist 2000c). See the numerous differential characters reported by Preston (1995, as subg. Coleogeton). We accept Stuckenia.
Chromosomes12 (2x). - Europe, Canada (W), Greenland. - Numerous reports.
