Tofieldiaceae
Publ. & Syn.L., Sp. Pl.: 970 (1753). Lectotype (LINN): Europe. Herb. Linn. 1093.1 (Howard 1979: 402).
NotesStevens (2001 onwards), based on the evidence of Remizowa and Sokoloff (2003) and Remizowa et al. (2005, 2006), assigns the family Tofieldiaceae to the order Alismatales. We find this assignment rather strange from morphological considerations.
Packer (2002) accepted Triantha apart from Tofieldia. We follow that solution.
