Peucedanum palustre (L.) Moench
Publ. & Syn.Moench, Methodus: 82 (1794). - Selinum palustre L., Sp. Pl.: 244 (1753). Lectotype: Europe. "Seseli palustre lactescens" in Bauhin, Prodr. Theatri Bot.: 85. 1620. (Reduron et al. 1997: 96). - Thysselinum palustre (L.) Hoffm., Gen. Pl. Umbell.: 154 (1814). - Thyselium palustre (L.) Raf., Good Book: 52 (1840). - Calestania palustris (L.) Koso-Pol., Bull. Soc. Imp. Naturalistes Moscou, n. s., 29: 175 (1916).
NotesPimenov (1996) and Tikhomirov (PAF proposal) accepted this species in the genus Thyselinum but we are reluctant to follow that generic split.
Chernov (1959) and other authors have reported and mapped Peucedanum palustre from two localities on the arctic Kildin Island in the Murman area, northwestern European Russia. Tikhomirov (1980) included it from there with a question mark. Elsewhere in Fennoscandia, this is a fairly thermophilous species but it reaches northeastern Finland. The reports from Kildin Island need to be confirmed by identifiable voucher specimens.
