Seseli condensatum (L.) Rchb. f.
Publ. & Syn.Rchb. f. in Rchb. & Rchb. f., Icon. Fl. Germ. Helv. 21: 37 (1864). - Athamanta condensata L., Sp. Pl.: 1195 (1753). Lectotype (LINN): Siberia. Herb. Linn. 345.5 (Jarvis and Knees 1988: 473-474). - Pachypleurum condensatum (L.) Korovin, Fl. Kazakhstan. 6: 310 (1963).
NotesHultén's and current European opinion is that Seseli condensatum is best treated as a major Siberian and northeastern European Russian race of S. libanotis (L.) W.D.J. Koch, Gen. Pl. Umbell.: 111 (1824) [Athamanta libanotis L., Sp. Pl.: 244 (1753)]. We have not compared them and we have not found the place of publication of the indicated combination S. libanotis subsp. condensatum (L.) Rchb. f. We therefore enter this taxon as a species as done by Pimenov (1996) and Tikhomirov (PAF proposal).
Chromosomes22 (2x). - Siberia, Asia (C). - At least five reports.
GeographyEuropean (NE) - Asian (N/C): RUS SIB.
