Packera hyperborealis subsp. wrangelica (Jurtz., Korobkov & V.V. Petrovsky) Jurtz., Korobkov & V.V. Petrovsky
Publ. & Syn.Jurtz., Korobkov & V.V. Petrovsky, J. Bot. Res. Inst. Texas 2: 443 (2008). - Senecio hyperborealis subsp. wrangelica Jurtz., Korobkov & V.V. Petrovsky, Fl. Arct. URSS 10: 216 (1987). Holotype (LE): Russian Far East: Wrangel Island, "pars centralis, in cursu superiore fl. Neizvestnaja (Incognita)", 22. July 1971, leg. V.V. Petrovsky and O.D. Schteinberg.
NotesSubspecies wrangelica should be re-evaluated. The hexaploid chromosome number reported is more in accordance with the range in the morphologically and ploidally variable Packera heterophylla than with the few diploid counts published for subsp. hyperborealis. However, one chromosome count report is too little to give a clear pattern and support a taxonomy.
Chromosomes138 (6x). - Far East (Wrangel Island). - Zhukova and Petrovsky (1987b, for Senecio hyperborealis).
