NotesBogle (1968) and Cherniawsky and Bayer (1998a, 1998b, 1998c) interpreted Petasites x vitifolius to be the hybrid above. It occurs with scattered localities where the ranges of P. frigidus subsp. palmatus and P. sagittatus overlap but often in the absence of one or both parents.
