NotesSubspecies angustifolia (s. str.) is the major arctic North American race from northern Alaska east to Greenland and reaching across to Europe in Svalbard. Hultén (1968a) mapped one locality on the Chukchi Peninsula. Hultén and Fries (1986) assigned this record to subsp. iljinii and Barkalov (1992) accepted only Arnica iljinii from the Russian Far East.
