Antennaria dioica (L.) Gaertn.
Publ. & Syn.Gaertn., Fruct. Sem. Pl. 2, 3: 410, t. 167 (1791). - Gnaphalium dioicum L., Sp. Pl.: 850 (1753). Described from Europe. Type not designated (Jarvis 2007: 546).
NotesThe relatively unproblematic, predominantly Eurasian Antennaria dioica reaches North America only in the westernmost Aleutian Islands (we therefore do not consider it amphi-Pacific). It is regularly sexual with both sexes in equal frequency in populations.
Another tetraploid and assumed sexual, related species has been described from northern Fennoscandia - A. nordhageniana Rune & Rønning (Rune and Rønning 1956) - but it is not known to reach the Arctic.
A group of plants in Greenland and northeastern Canada have been described as several apomictic species of a sect. Dioicae. Bayer (2006) synonymized most but not all of them with one of the subspecies of A. rosea, see below.
