Antennaria villifera Boriss.
Publ. & Syn.Antennaria lanata auct., non (Hook.) Greene (1898).
NotesTwo basic studies of Antennaria villifera are Urbanska-Worytkiewicz (1970) and Urbanska (1986). Both sexes are present in some populations, only females in others. Urbanska considered apomictic seed production to predominate. In Bayer's concept, the plants are diploid and triploid, in our tetraploid and hexaploid.
Many Russian authors have applied the name A. lanata for this Eurasian species. That name belongs to a morphologically different and tetraploid sexual Cordilleran species described from the Canadian Rockies, based on a Drummond collection (e.g., Scoggan 1979; Urbanska 1983; Hultén and Fries 1986; Bayer 2006).
