NotesThe ranges reported for Myosotis scorpioides and M. laxa subsp. cespitosa differ between Fennoscandia and the Russian areas. In Fennoscandia, the latter is the most northern and hardy of the two. In European Russia, it is the opposite as seen from the maps in Martinenko (1977b) and Petrovsky (1980a), the latter according to Petrovsky based on Hultén (1971a: map 1469) where there are two dots for M. laxa subsp. cespitosa in the Pechora River estuary, whereas M. scorpioides is mapped to be frequent throughout and even reaches the islands of Kolguev and Vaigach.

Not included: Reports of 2n = 22 (2x) from Siberia, 42 from Iceland, and 44 (4x) from Belarus and Siberia. These reports probably belong to other species.
