Eritrichium villosum (Ledeb.) Bunge
Publ. & Syn.Bunge, Verz. Altai Pfl.: 14 (1836). - Myosotis villosa Ledeb., Mém. Acad. Imp. Sci. St. Pétersbourg Hist. Acad. 5: 516 (1815). Described from the Altai (Kazakhstan).
NotesPetrovsky (1980a, PAF proposal) accepted two subspecies of Eritrichium villosum. Subspecies pulvinatum is sympatric within the northern parts of the range of subsp. villosum. The races differ in habit and ecology but initial investigations of molecular markers (AFLP; Tribsch unpubl.) do not support separation. The samples identified as subsp. pulvinatum appeared in at least two lineages of E. villosum. The subspecies are entered provisionally.
