Pedicularis palustris L.
Publ. & Syn.L., Sp. Pl.: 607 (1753). Lectotype (LINN): Europe. Herb. Linn. 763.1 (Fischer 1997: 113).
NotesPedicularis palustris is polymorphic. The plant that reaches the Arctic in northwestern Europe is, in our opinion, sufficiently distinct in leaf and inflorescence characters to be accepted as a separate race: subsp. borealis. The very little material we have seen of P. karoi is not (much) more different from western P. palustris than are the races within P. palustris among themselves. Pedicularis karoi is entered as a race of P. palustris as done also by Ivanina (1980b).
