Euphrasia vinacea P.D. Sell & Yeo
Publ. & Syn.P.D. Sell & Yeo, Feddes Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 64: 203 (1962). Holotype (PH): Canada: Manitoba, Churchill, 5745'N, 9405'W, 04. Aug. 1948, leg. J.M. Gillett 2404.
NotesEuphrasia vinacea reaches or touches the Arctic at least at Churchill (the chromosome count locality) and York Factory on the Hudson Bay, perhaps also in Labrador. Sell and Yeo (1970) considered this species to be closely related to E. frigida auct. (= E. wettsteinii), only differing in perhaps modificative characters (narrower capsules, smaller flowers, more purplish pigmentation). These characters vary also elsewhere in the polymorphic E. wettsteinii. Euphrasia vinacea occurs at the southern limit of the range of E. wettsteinii.
