Chromosomes(1) 18 (2x). - Europe (N), Russia (N), Greenland. - Numerous reports.
(2) 36 (4x). - Europe (Norway). - Knaben and Engelskjøn (1967, a single tetraploid count, probably from a random autotetraploid).
Not included: A report of 2n = 18 (2x) from Tiksi in northern Siberia (Sokolovskaya and Strelkova 1960). This species and all its relatives are absent from northern Siberia (Polozhij 1996). The report is therefore a mystery.
