NotesSubspecies vulgaris occurs as a vegetatively remaining garden escape without seed propagation in the Arctic in Norway and in southwestern Greenland. It is the adventive (and aggressive) plant in northwestern North America but has not yet been found in the Arctic in the Yukon Territory or Alaska. It is debatable whether it should be accepted as an arctic plant.
