NotesSubspecies galericulata probably reaches the Borderline Arctic. Sekretareva (1999) reported it from the northern parts of Kanin-Priural. In addition, Pedersen (1972) reported it as casual from southwestern Greenland.
Chromosomes28-31 32 (4x). - Europe. - Numerous reports.
Not included: A report of 2n = 16 (2x) from southern Norway (Laane 1969). It is difficult to imagine a misidentification of this species. Laane's counts are cytologically reliable but rarely vouchered.
