NotesGalium palustre s. lat. includes two species differing in morphology and ploidy levels and reproductivelly isolated: G. palustre s. str. and G. elongatum C. Presl (G. palustre subsp. elongatum (C. Presl) Lange), see e.g. Teppner et al. (1976) and Apelgren and Lernstål (1991). Galium elongatum is not reported to reach or approach the Arctic.
