Galium boreale subspecies taxon physocarpum (Ledeb.)
Publ. & Syn.Galium physocarpum Ledeb., Fl. Ross. 2, 1: 410 (1844). Described from southeastern European Russia.
Chromosomesca. 64 66 (6x). - Russia, Far East (N). - At least four reports, two from the Russian Far East for G. boreale.
Moore (1982) stated that a hexaploid chromosome number (2n = 66), reported for G. rubioides s. lat. by Ehrendorfer (1976), is an error.
