NotesGuggisberg et al. (2006), followed by Kelso (2009c), cite morphological and genetic evidence supporting an allopolyploid origin of Primula egaliksensis from P. nutans (2n = 20, 22) and P. mistassinica (2n = 18).
Solstad and Elven: Primula egaliksensis was present in the Borderline Arctic in a locality at Dalvik by Eyjafjördur in Iceland (Kristinsson 2008). The identity of the plant has been confirmed by U.-M. Hultgård (in comment) and by us but the site has been destroyed (H. Kristinsson, comment).
