Publ. & Syn.Cochlearia anglica auct., non L. (1759).
NotesRussia is entered with a question mark as subsp. norvegica occurs as frequent on the Norwegian side east to the Jakobselv estuary (shared by Russia and Norway) and probably continues along the northern Murman coast. This is an eco-geographical race confined to brackish estuaries from southwestern Norway north to northern Fennoscandia and northeast to the White Sea (Nordal et al. 1986; Nordal and Stabbetorp 1990). The plant retains its morphological and physiological characteristics in cultivation. The majority of reports of Cochlearia anglica and C. fenestrata from northern Norway, and perhaps of C. arctica from northwestern European Russia, belong to this subspecies.
