Draba arctica subsp. ostenfeldii (E. Ekman) Böcher ex Kartesz & S.K. Gandhi
Publ. & Syn.Draba ostenfeldii var. ovibovina E. Ekman, Svensk Bot. Tidskr. 23: 493 (1929). Described from Ellesmere Island, Nunavut (Canada). Syntypes: (1, C, O!, S) Fram Harbour 7845'N, 1899, leg. H.G. Simmons 1092; (2, S?) Muskoxfjord 7345'N, 1900, leg. K.A. Gredin. - Draba ovibovina (E. Ekman) E. Ekman, Svensk Bot. Tidskr. 35: 135 (1941).
NotesElven and Petrovsky: Variety ovibovina was described as a race of Draba ostenfeldii E. Ekman. It might be a race of D. arctica s. str. Jørgensen et al. (1958) reported it to be hexaploid (2n = 48) but this was refuted by Böcher.
Chromosomes80 (10x). - Greenland. - Böcher (1966a, for "ostenfeldii" and "ovibovina").
Not included: A report of 2n = 48 from northeastern Greenland (Jørgensen et al. 1958) is probably based on misidentified D. cinerea or D. arctogena.
