Physaria (Nutt. ex Torr. & A. Gray) A. Gray
Publ. & Syn.Lesquerella S. Watson, Proc. Amer. Acad. Arts 23: 249 (1888).
NotesMurray and Elven: A thorough survey of the genus Lesquerella is Rollins and Shaw (1973). Al-Shehbaz and O'Kane (2002) showed by molecular evidence that Lesquerella should be merged with the southwestern North American genus Physaria under the latter priority name. The case was further argued for by O'Kane (2010). Mulligan commented some years ago that this merger has not been accepted by all but it is increasingly becoming established in the literature. We therefore accept Physaria in preference of Lesquerella for the two species that reach the Arctic.
