Parrya nauruaq Al-Shehbaz et al.
Publ. & Syn.Al-Shehbaz et al., Novon 17: 277 (2007). Holotype (ALA): Alaska: Nome Quad., the Seward Peninsula, 12 km NNE of Cape Rodney, Moon Mountains, 6444'06''N, 16620'05''W, 08. June 2005, leg. C.L. Parker, R. Lipkin, and C.R. Meyers 15987.
NotesParker and Elven: Plants deviating strongly from Parrya nudicaulis in morphology were recently found in a few localities on the Seward Peninsula, western Alaska. These plants are distinct with very thick stocks, broadly spathulate leaves, large and striped petals, and short and broad fruits. They were published as the new species P. nauruaq (Al-Shehbaz et al. 2007). We agree with the recognition of this very spectacular species.
