Arabidopsis petraea subsp. septentrionalis (N. Busch) Elven & D.F. Murray
Publ. & Syn.Elven & D.F. Murray, J. Bot. Res. Inst. Texas 2: 438 (2008). - Arabis septentrionalis N. Busch, Bot. Mater. Gerb. Glavn. Bot. Sada RSFSR 3, 3-4: 10 (1922). Described from arctic Siberia and from Novaya Zemlya (European Russia). Type in LE. - Arabis petraea subsp. septentrionalis (N. Busch) Tolm., Trudy Bot. Muz. 23: 204 (1931). - Cardaminopsis septentrionalis (N. Busch) O.E. Schulz in Engl. & Prantl, Nat. Pflanzenfam., ed. 2, 17b: 541 (1936).
NotesOccurrence of subsp. septentrionalis east of the Lena River (i.e., in the Kolyma region, West Chukotka, and Wrangel Island) needs confirmation. A confusion with subsp. umbrosa is probable.
Chromosomes(1) 16 (2x). - Siberia (N), Far East (N). - At least three reports, but see below.
(2) 32 (4x). - Siberia (Taimyr, Kolyma). - Zhukova et al. (1973); Krogulevich (1976a, Putorana, for Arabis umbrosa but probably "septentrionalis").
The only chromosome number certainly recorded within the range of this subspecies is 2n = 32 from Taimyr and Putorana.
