Arabidopsis (DC.) Heynh.
Publ. & Syn.Casual: Arabidopsis thaliana.
NotesAccording to O'Kane and Al-Shehbaz (1997) and Al-Shehbaz et al. (1999), Arabidopsis should be restricted in a northern context to A. thaliana, A. arenosa, A. suecica (an allopolyploid from A. arenosa and A. thaliana and assigned by Á. Löve to its own genus Hylandra), and A. lyrata s. lat. (including A. kamchatica and A. petraea). The studies of Koch et al. (1999, 2000, 2001) connected A. thaliana, A. suecica, A. kamchatica, A. lyrata, and A. petraea s. lat. inside Arabidopsis s. str. and supported this circumscription of the genus. We accept it. A last species, A. arenicola, was accepted in this genus by Warwick et al. (2006).
