Comarum palustre L. | |
Publ. & Syn. | Comarum angustifolium Raf., Fl. Tellur. 2: 56 (1836). Described from Oregon (U.S.A.). - Comarum palustre subsp. angustifolium (Raf.) Tzvelev, Bot. Zhurn. 92: 897 (2007). |
Notes | Murray and Elven: Tzvelev (2007a) proposed to divide the northern material of Comarum palustre into three races: the European and western Siberian subsp. palustre (perhaps also in eastern North America), the broadly amphi-Pacific and perhaps trans-American subsp. angustifolium, and the arctic subsp. arcticum. The characters he reported mainly concern the shape, relative position, and dentation of leaflets, pubescence, and the absence/presence of glands on upper parts of stem and peduncle. We have tried to apply these characters on material (ALA, O) from North America and Europe and find them difficult. We therefore provisionally refrain from accepting the subspecies. |
