Potentilla fragiformis Willd. ex Schltdl.
Publ. & Syn.Section Tormentilla Tausch.
NotesElven and Murray: The previous assignment of Potentilla fragiformis to sect. Ranunculus is almost certainly wrong. Töpel et al. (2006) assigned it to sect. Niveae, which also seems strange to us. Assignment to sect. Aureae has support in morphology.
This species, previously considered to be exclusively Asian Pacific/Beringian, has now been proved from several parts of western Alaska (vouchered in, e.g., ALA and O).
