NotesEhrich et al. (2008) analysed the phylogeography of Rubus chamaemorus, demonstrating survival during the last glaciation in northeastern Asia and Beringian America and also that an additional plant in the southern Russian Far East - var. pseudochamaemorus (Tolm.) Hultén - is genetically (and morphologically) rather different from R. chamaemorus and probably deserves specific rank as R. pseudochamaemorus Tolm.
