Lathyrus palustris subsp. pilosus (Cham.) Hultén
Publ. & Syn.Hultén, Fl. Aleut. Isl.: 236 (1937). - Lathyrus pilosus Cham., Linnaea 6: 548 (1831). Described from Petropavlovsk in Kamtchatka (the Russian Far East).
NotesElven and Solstad: All the northern Norwegian plants are more or less pubescent and conform to subsp. pilosus rather than to the glabrous subsp. palustris which is the only race present in southern and central Scandinavia. Also the Icelandic plants are pubescent and must accordlingly be assigned to subsp. pilosa.
Chromosomes14 (2x). - Siberia, Far East, Alaska, Canada, U.S.A.? - Numerous reports.
Not included: Several Japanese reports of 2n = 42 (6x), assigned to L. palustris subsp. pilosus, and a Caucasus report of 2n = 14 (2x), only assigned to L. palustris. The Japanese counts indicate that the ploidy situation may be more complicated than assumed above.
