NotesYurtsev (in comment) proposed the northern plants as Betula cajanderi subsp. minutiflora, stated to reach the Arctic in West Chukotka but not mapped from there by Nedolushko (1996a). We include them in the broader concept of B. platyphylla, a major northeastern Asian species.
