Salix pseudomonticola C.R. Ball
Publ. & Syn.Salix monticola auct., non. Bebb (1885).
NotesArgus: Salix pseudomonticola barely reaches the Arctic along the lower Yukon River, Alaska. Specimens on which reports of its occurrence in arctic parts of Quebec were based were reidentified by Argus (Salix in Flore de Quebec-Labrador nordique).
Chromosomes38 (2x). - North America. - Suda and Argus (1968, for S. monticola); Dorn (1974, 1975a).
Not included: A report of 2n = 38 from Churchill on Hudson Bay in Manitoba (Löve and Löve 1982a, for S. padophylla) is dubious. See the note where Argus indirectly does not accept the species from the Arctic in the Hudson Bay area.
