Epilobium anagallidifolium Lam.
Publ. & Syn.Epilobium alpinum auct., non L. (1753).
NotesJarvis (2007: 496) stated that the designated lectotype of the name Epilobium alpinum belongs to E. lactiflorum. Earlier records of E. alpinum are often referable to E. anagallidifolium. Hoch et al. (1995) proposed rejection of the name E. alpinum L. This proposal was approved unanimously by the Nomenclature Committee (1997) and is now part of the Code.
Cordilleran plants assigned to E. anagallidifolium differ morphologically from European (and type) ones. These deviant plants reach at least north to south-central Alaska. Some taxonomy might be involved.
