NotesIn the molecular phylogenies of Soltis et al. (1996, 2001), the three sections of this subgenus constitute two groups in the main cluster of Saxifraga: sect. Stoloniferae and sect. Tridactylites as one group and sect. Saxifraga as another. However, this main cluster also includes the sections Porphyrion (incl. Xanthizoon) and Ligulatae and the subgenus becomes paraphyletic without these.
