Saxifraga tricuspidata Rottb.
Publ. & Syn.Saxifraga tricuspidata ? [var.] subintegrifolia Abrom., Biblioth. Bot. 8, 42, 2: 36 (1899). Described from Greenland. - Saxifraga tricuspidata f. subintegrifolia (Abrom.) Polunin, J. Bot. 76: 100 (1938).
NotesSaxifraga tricuspidata differs much from the other species of this section. The major part of its range is in non-Beringian Canada and Greenland, well outside the range of all other species of the section.
Zhmylev: Saxifraga tricuspidata is a North American, arctic-alpine species of considerable morphological variability. Plants with entire or almost entire leaves (var. subintegrifolia) are sometimes found in Greenland and Canada. These plants differ from the other arctic plants with entire leaves of section Trachyphyllum (i.e., the S. bronchialis and S. spinulosa aggregates) by elongated glands on cilia along the leaf margins.
Elven: Forma subintegrifolia is stated to occur sporadically throughout the range (see, e.g., Polunin 1940) and probably does not deserve any special attention.
